A Dreamy Summer Styled Shoot with Poppy's Perth

Last summer, I teamed up with the super talented Tara from Poppy’s Perth for a sweet little styled shoot in the heart of Stewart Park in Perth, ON. It was the kind of day that makes you want to bottle up summer and keep it forever—warm breeze, golden light, willow trees doing their thing… literal magic.

We created two styled vignettes that felt romantic, editorial, and a little whimsical—like a dreamy garden party that just happened to have the most beautiful cakes you’ve ever seen. (Seriously. Tara’s cakes are GORGEOUS.)

Of course, no shoot of mine is complete without a little chaos—and my kids were along for the ride, playing in the park and helping us haul props, cakes, and gear across the grass like the tiny creative assistants they are. They earned their post-shoot cupcakes, that’s for sure.

There’s something really special about creative days like this—just playing with ideas, letting things evolve, and collaborating with another local maker to bring something beautiful to life. No pressure, no big plan—just making art for the joy of it.
